John Rocque’s Map of London has now been georeferencing and overlaid onto Google Maps to produce an interactive map of London from 1746. You can see that London at the time only extends only a short distance north of Oxford Street.

It is possible to use the Street View functionality to see existing roads on the map and see how London has changed in the last 260 years.
