Notes about seeing the Prince concert on Sun 9 Feb 2014
You don’t often get to see Prince in front of a few hundred people, but I’ve managed it twice in ten days.
Once again, I was in the right place at the right time and I found myself close to the front of the longest queue in London.
Once into the venue, Prince and his band, 3rdEyeGirl, treated us to an acoustic and intimate repertoire of old and new songs. We even had a brief Q&A where Prince gave a pretty blunt answer to my question: ‘How is London treating you’?’
His answer: ‘Perfect’.
The band were, once again, phenomenal. They watch Prince like a hawk waiting for his signal on what to do next. Hannah, Ida and Donna all look like they are having so much fun – I’m sure they are. What a gig!
These shows are just getting better and better. Go to one if you can. The next shows are at:
- Koko, Camden – Sunday 16 Feb
- Ronnie Scotts – Monday 17 Feb
- Somewhere in Manchester – weekend of the 22 Feb
